Out thanks to each and everyone who says the Rosary before the morning masses in Mountnugent Church each day.
The feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross (14-Sept) commemorates the discovery of the True Cross, a significant event in Christian history. According to tradition, the True Cross was found by St Helena in the 4th century, with the dedication of the churches on Calvary taking place on September 13, 335, and the veneration of the cross, the following day. The annual celebration of this event has been observed for centuries, serving as a reminder of the redemption won for humanity through the sacrifice of Christ. There will be Mass on Monday evening in Ballinacree @ 8:00 PM.
Season of Creation 2026: Living Water
The period from 1st September to 4th October (the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi) is designated globally as the Season of Creation. This ecumenical season calls us to celebrate the wonders of our world, give thanks for its creation, and accept our shared responsibility for protecting it. This year, our reflection focuses deeply on the importance of living water.
To mark this special season , the Parish Pastoral Council invites all parishioners to a special celebration Mass:

· Date: Friday, 25th Sept.
· Time: 8:00 PM
As we participate in the Season of Creation, we invite you to reflect on these words by Rob Bell:
"Walk, don’t run. Slow down, breathe deeply, and open your eyes because there’s a whole world right here within this one."

Parish Offering Day Thank you for supporting the parish offering day (Yellow tipped envelope) which contributes to maintaining the priests in our parish.
First Communion Parents Meeting
There will be a meeting for the parents of the First Communion Classes in Scoil Bhride on Thursday evening, 17-Sept., @ 8:30 PM. All parents / Guardians are kindly asked to attend. There will be an enrolment ceremony for the children of the First Communion Classes of both schools on Saturday / Sunday, 26/27th September.
Annual Parish Remembrance Mass
As we gather this Cemetery Sunday to commemorate our departed family and friends, the Parish Pastoral Council invites you to save the date for our annual Remembrance Mass in November.
Whether you are grieving a recent loss or quietly remembering a loved one from years past, you will be very welcome at our Remembrance Mass here in Ballinacree Church on Friday, 27th November 2026 at 7:00 pm and there be refreshments after the Mass in the Community Centre. Everyone is welcome.
A very special invitation is extended to the relatives and friends of anyone with connections to our parishioners who passed away in the year since our last Remembrance gathering.
If you have experienced a bereavement this year and your loved one lived outside our parish, we still want to ensure they are included in our November Remembrance ceremony. Please let me or a member of the Parish Pastoral Council know or text the number on the notice in the porch.
We look forward to seeing you there for this special evening of remembrance and community support for our bereaved parishioners.
