CEMETERY DEVOTIONS 2024
Sat., 11/7 @ 7.00pm — Ecumenical Prayer Service & blessing of graves in Killeagh Cemetery.
Sunday, 12th July: 12:15pm — Prayers blessing of graves in Kilbride Cemetery. 3:00pm — Mass & blessing of graves in Ballinacree.
We extend a very warm welcome to our parishioners as they return to remember their loved ones who are interred in our three parish cemeteries. We also remember at this time all from our parish who are elsewhere.
As we recall the lives of all who are interred in our cemeteries and pray for them, we think especially of the following who died since Cemetery Sunday last year:
Annie Walsh, John Joe Smith, Peter Farrelly, Catherine Smith, Patricia Hamilton, Maura Gibney, Susan Smith, Kit Lee, Declan Brady, Rose Hussey, Patrick Masterson and Anne Bradley.
We know it is an important moment for many families, especially for people attending the devotions for the first time. We welcome the assistance of all the Special Ministers of the Eucharist to kindly lend a hand on the day with the distribution of Holy Communion. Thanks, in advance, to all who are taking part in the readings, rosary and prayers, etc.
Annual Parish Remembrance Mass
As we gather this Cemetery Sunday to commemorate our departed family and friends, the Parish Pastoral Council invites you to save the date for our annual Remembrance Mass in November.
Whether you are grieving a recent loss or quietly remembering a loved one from years past, you will be very welcome at our Remembrance Mass here in Ballinacree Church on Friday, 27th November 2026 at 7:00 pm and there be refreshments after the Mass in the Community Centre. Everyone is welcome.
A very special invitation is extended to the relatives and friends of anyone with connections to our parishioners who passed away in the year since our last Remembrance gathering.
If you have experienced a bereavement this year and your loved one lived outside our parish, we still want to ensure they are included in our November Remembrance ceremony. Please let me or a member of the Parish Pastoral Council know or text the number on the notice in the porch.
We look forward to seeing you there for this special evening of remembrance and community support for our bereaved parishioners.
